and this seems to be the most popular one
in Koa
We just recieved a bunch of new flamed koa for tops and
it's as amazing as this and also in different flame patterns
first come first serve, keep in mind, were talking about a 3 wk lead time
Normal build time is 3 weeks, but could be longer
based on Holiday orders so please plan ahead.
We are offering another custom made jewelry box style like this
one we made for another customer. You may choose from one of the last three
choices for a top on the box if you choose to buy this auction. They are all various
tops made from Flamed and figured Hawaiian Koa
The grain will vary for the top as wood is all different grain wise...
This one in the pic is a flamed 5A Flamed Hawaiian Koa and Tiger maple box bottom
The top is rounded over 1/2" and sanded to 400 grit before oiling with Teak Oil and Howard Bees Wax finish
The others are also oiled and waxed
The flames show through rich with Teak Oil and are
amazing and finger width depth 3d looking.
This is superbly attached with Brusso brass Quadmatic hinges
that bring the top to 95 degrees fully opened.
Tiger Maple Trays are all cut from the same piece of wood
for continuity and rounded edge trays are
lined with dark brown padded micro suede
and have 15 compartments on the top tray and two elongated ones on the bottom,
but you may request a different compartment layout if you like.
The feet are adustable brass but it's level as it is.
Beautiful look, all miters are clean and well matched.
This is gorgeous and a must have....
The tops can be laser inlaid with contrasting woods
with a name a slogan or a logo.
The hinges are all laser mortised in for perfect closes :)
An Italian box maker that I met a few weeks ago
saw these boxes in my store and told me that of this quality
these would sell for $1200 plus in Italy if they could offer them
which they couldnt and that the labor would be outstanding.
I've got these down to a science now and you can
have one of these custom built for you
The sides are all mitered and are cut from the same board.
We use woods kiln dried to 6-8% moisture to prevent movement.
On my other box auction you can choose for the top, these woods...
walnut, bubinga, curly maple, quilted maple, Flamed Hawaiian Koa,
Spalted Maple and flamed Redwood.
Inlay wood if chosen as an option, should be something
that would contrast well
Finish can either be oiled, (tung or teak oil) or glossy clear
glossy finish is an additonal charge of $120 and up to 2 weeks leadtime
these are very nice custom boxes and could also be used
as humidors with the humidor package including Hydrometer: ask about this

asking types of wood you want and then it will take approx
4 weeks to complete and then we will ship the box to you Fedex.
